Creating a Relay

Detailed guide on creating new relays with different transaction types.

Transaction Types

Each relay has a transaction type that determines its initial status and how certain fields are labeled:

  • Listing for Sale — For sellers. Initial status: Pre-Listing. Price label: List Price.
  • Listing for Lease — For landlords. Initial status: Pre-Listing. Price label: Rent Price.
  • Purchase — For buyers. Initial status: Pre-Offer. Price label: List Price.
  • Lease — For tenants. Initial status: None. Price label: Rent Price.
  • Real Estate Other — For other real estate deals. Initial status: None.
  • Other — For non-real estate transactions. Initial status: None.

Address Autocomplete

When entering a property address, CloseRelay integrates with Google Places API to provide address autocomplete. As you type, matching addresses appear in a dropdown. Selecting an address automatically fills in the street, city, state, and ZIP code fields.

Tip: If autocomplete is not available, you can always type the address manually in each field.

Default Folders

When a relay is created, seven default document folders are automatically set up:

  1. Contract Documents
  2. Disclosures
  3. Addendums
  4. Title & Escrow
  5. Inspection
  6. Loan Documents
  7. Other

You can rename, reorder, or delete these folders, and create additional custom folders as needed.
